Product Description

A solvent dye is a dye which is soluble in organic solvents and is frequently used as a solution in those solvents. This category of dyes is used to color items such as waxes, lubricants, plastics, and other hydrocarbon-based nonpolar materials. Any dyes used in fuels, for example, would be considered solvent dyes and they are not soluble in water.

Hermeta provides a wide range of solvent dyes with good chemical compatibility for plastics industry. These solvent dyes lend color to a number of solid materials like nylon, acetates, polyester, PVC, acrylics, PETP, PMMA, styrene monomers and polystyrene. In contrast to ordinary dyes, the solvent dyes Hermeta produces are pure in nature and contain low amount of impurities. Catering to the special needs of plastics coloration, these solvent dyes can withstand over 350°C of temperature during extrusion and injection moulding process.

In addition, Hermeta produces solvent dyes which are used in the automotive sector to impart color to petrol fuel and other lubricants. Moreover, varied hydrocarbon based non-polar materials such as waxes and candles, coatings and wood stains are colored with the aid of solvent dyes. In the printing industry, they go towards marking inkjet inks, inks and glass coloration. Printing is followed by the media industry where the solvent dyes are used for magazines and newspapers.

There are several advantages offered by our solvent dyes that have led to its wide use in varied applications. Color shade consistency, superior light fastness, resistance to migration, good thermal stability, extremely dissolvable in plastics and lack of precipitation even after extensive storage are just to name some of its superior attributes.
